Turbo-charged ? Me ?

You are "turbo" charged.
Fast moving and classy, you get things done with power and grace. Your expensive tastes can be deceiving, since what you really value is quality and efficiency. As you're careening around those corners in life, finishing a dozen knitted objects each month, stop and smell the roses. Don't miss the beauty of process!
QuizillaWhat Kind of Knitting Needle Are You?

Well, ok. True, I move fast, I value quality and efficiency, and I need to stop and smell the roses (!) far more often than I do. But while I own a Bernina for my sewing (and it's not a top of the line machine, but it's a very, very good one), I don't own a single pair of Addi Turbos for knitting! Addi Naturas, yes. Love them. Maybe I should make the Turbos my next purchase? But I just ordered 3 new SB Quicksilvers, so maybe not. With my SLE, keeping the yarn on the needles is more important than speed! And I'm far more likely to have sewn a dozen or more items in a month than knit them! Nana Sadie Rose keeps me very busy on that Bernina, which leaves my Addi Naturas sitting much of the time.

For me it's really all about the best quality for the lowest cost...especially these days...So what do you do to ensure quality but do it in a frugal way? Or do you care about frugality? Is it the best or nothing? Or, quantity over quality, because the compulsion to craft is the whole point? I challenge you to think this one over as it relates to your crafting life.

I'm Pink Aluminum.. "You are pink aluminum. Retro, straightforward and fun, you love classic things. If they're 99 cents at Goodwill all the better!" Well, that part sure fits, doesn't it, Sallee? {g}

I tend to be frugal to the point of over-doing it at times. My Grandmother once told me that I could squeeze a dollar until George yelled for help and I thought it was a wonderful compliment.

I think that 70% to 75% of my knitting over the last year and a half has been for charity with donated yarn, so I'm not out of pocket (except for some new needles I purchased) for all that enjoyment. To me, the act of knitting is what is satisfying - I want the finished item to be as well made as possible, but it doesn't break my heart to give those items away. In fact, it's a relief to be able to knit & crochet to my heart's content without worrying about what to do with the items. Here in Michigan, there are always people in need of warm hats, scarves & lap-robes.

For my personal knitting, I've been doing a lot of recycling - buying sweaters at garage sales, mostly wool ones, and frogging them for the yarn. I've also been known to take apart something hand knit that I don't wear much and reknit it. Is that frugal enough??

You are bamboo...Warm, cozy, and thoughtful, you take your time and enjoy how things feel, smell, and taste. You love the craft and beauty of traditional things, and you value the comfort and experience of knitting as much as the results. But while you are reveling in your warm cozies, don't get stuck. Warm is wonderful, but so is the whole wide world!

I always get bamboo in this quiz but I love my addis because I can go faster on the st st rows...but I rarely use bamboo because I couldn't afford both and I chose addis.

I do love the feel of bamboo...

When I use straights I use the aluminum ones I inherited because the coating makes them easy to use...

I guess the needles don't make the knitter in my case? :)
